Legal firm Higgs & Sons has become one of the first practices in the region to receive the Law Society Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) award.
Higgs’ residential property team, based at the firm’s Kingswinford office, now holds the recognised quality standard, which was launched at the beginning of the year.
Speaking of the award, residential property department head, David Morgan said: “We have an enviable reputation in the region for our conveyancing service, and this award recognises our ability to deliver on behalf of our clients.
“We pride ourselves on providing a very personal service to homebuyers and sellers during what can be a very stressful time. In addition to providing reassurance to potential clients, the award will also help reinforce the quality of our service to professional introducers including financial advisers and estate agents.”
The CQS award demonstrates to lenders, home buyers and sellers, and insurers that the solicitor has effective risk assessment processes. The scheme has four main objectives:
• Enhance the reputation of conveyancing solicitors
• Provide reassurance about integrity and practice standards
• Create a trusted conveyancing community to deter fraud
• Provide a more effective service for clients
2011 is proving to be an excellent year for Higgs. The firm was named Law Firm of the Year at the Birmingham Law Society Legal Awards in March 2011 and was a runner up in the Lawyer Magazine’s awards for best regional law firm.
