A former jockey captures the racing pageantry in a collection of abstract works of art at a Midlands art gallery.
The Geoff Price Exhibition will be displayed at the Granary Art Gallery, Weston Park, on the Shropshire / Staffordshire border throughout September.
The exhilarating works portray the thrills of racing depicting the physical power of the jockey and horse, illustrated in vibrant colours.
After a career in the 1960’s and 70’s as a jockey and racehorse trainer, Geoff changed direction to study fine art. Many of his works celebrate his passion for racing and art which are evident in his powerful collection of horse racing and abstract art.
Gareth Williams, Curator to the Weston Park Foundation said: “Geoff’s energetic and striking style is guaranteed to make an impact on our visitors.”
Entry to all of the Granary Art Gallery’s exhibitions are free. The Art Gallery is situated in the stately homes restored Granary building and features a year round changing programme of traditional, contemporary and historical decorative and fine art displays.
