A West Midlands managing director has been presented with the highest individual global award from car giant Volkswagen.
Andrew Hockedy, who manages Trust Group UK which has three Volkswagen sites in Redditch, Wolverhampton and Stourbridge, has been awarded the Volkswagen Diamond Pin for services to the brand.
The Diamond Pin recognised outstanding customer service in support of the brand’s focus on customer care. Only five people from Volkswagen UK are awarded the Diamond Pin every year.
The 49-year-old, who is based at Wolverhampton Volkswagen, was presented with the prestigious award at a celebratory ceremony at the manufacturer’s global factory in Wolfsburg, Germany.
Andrew said: “I’m thrilled to have been awarded a Diamond Pin, it’s a huge honour.
“The job brings its own rewards but we believe being surrounded by a dedicated and friendly team makes the job more enjoyable and ultimately more successful.”
He was presented with the award by Alain Favey, Head of European Sales for the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand.
Chris Craft, director of Volkswagen UK, said: “Andrew thoroughly deserves this award after giving complete devotion to Trust Group UK since its inception in 2006, and the Volkswagen brand.
“His positive attitude is an inspiration to all staff at Trust Group UK and is demonstrated with the Diamond Pin.”
