A manager at an Aberystwyth retailer has joined an exclusive club after being recognised for his outstanding loyalty.
John Milcoy from Drefach, Llanwenog, was presented with a Volkswagen Gold Pin in recognition for exceptional service to the brand at a black-tie event held recently at the Dorchester Hotel in London.
The aftersales manager at Aberystwyth-based Anthony Motors Volkswagen has over 25 years’ experience in the car industry, including 22 years working for the Volkswagen brand.
John, 48, said: “The job brings its own rewards through working closely with all members of staff and working hard to make sure our philosophy of ‘customer first’ is at the forefront of everyone’s minds. However, I’m thrilled to have been awarded a Gold Pin, it’s a huge honour.”

“His positive attitude is an inspiration to all of us at Anthony Motors and I’m thrilled that his hard work and dedication has been officially recognised with the prestigious Gold Pin.”
John is one of around 20 people from Volkswagen to have received the Gold Pin in Volkswagen’s Gold Pin Commendation Awards 2011. Along with being an award winner, John is also the Anthony Motors Volkswagen Master Technician, having gone through rigorous training throughout his career, the most recent relating to Advanced Diagnostic Techniques, Customer Handling and Coaching and Mentoring.
Staffs at Anthony Motors Volkswagen are no strangers to success. In 2008 and 2009 the retailer received Volkswagen’s Service Quality Award for being one of the top 100 retailers in Europe and in 2010 John was awarded the One Business Award in recognition of delivering outstanding performance to the brand.
