A Swansea man who started as an apprentice with a South Wales company has been appointed to the top job.
Jeremy Phillips, who joined the Sinclair Group in 1986 as an apprentice has been appointed as brand manager at Sinclair Volkswagen in Swansea.
After completing his apprenticeship Jeremy worked for the company as a technician before climbing the promotion ladder.
He has held various positions including sales manager with the company’s commercial vehicles side before being appointed head of business for both the Swansea and Cardiff Commercial Vehicle businesses in November 2009.
He and his partner, who have two children, live just two miles away from the Swansea retailer.
“I’m Swansea born and bred,” Jeremy said proudly.
“My expertise provides me with an excellent understanding of the business. I am looking forward to sharing these skills and taking the Swansea team to new successes.
“In 2013 Sinclair Volkswagen Swansea will be moving to a brand new site with a huge 17-car showroom so I am now getting the team ready for what I am sure will be a great future with this company.”
Jonathan Sinclair, managing director of Sinclair Group, said: “Jeremy is a fantastic asset to the business. The strong local knowledge which he has built up over the years means that he understands the needs of customers in the Swansea area.”
