A Southall car technician is celebrating after ‘coming of age’ in the automotive industry.
Parvez Akhtar has clocked up 21 years with Volkswagen, joining as an apprentice technician at West London Volkswagen and working his way through the Volkswagen Academy training programme.
Three years ago, Parvez gained his master technician status, making him one of the UK’s top Volkswagen technicians.
Of his long service, 38-year-old Parvez said: “I am thrilled to reach this 21 year milestone and it is my way of saying thank you to West London Volkswagen for believing in me and investing in my training.
“I can honestly say that my proudest moment was qualifying as a master technician. It is extremely rewarding to know that I can pass on my experience to young people who want to do the same thing.”
Shaun Kirby, brand manager at West London Volkswagen, said: “Parvez is a great example of what can be achieved with hard work and dedication.
“His experience and knowledge is providing vital support to the next generation of technicians, and everyone at West London Volkswagen congratulates him on reaching such a milestone in his career.
“I hope he stays for at least another 21 years!”
