The new local business development manager of a Chester company travelled more than 10,000 miles from Australia to take up her new post.
Twenty-two-year-old Lisa Mackin, from Mollington, worked for Dane Volkswagen in from the age of 17, having decided to carve out a career for herself in the motor industry rather than go to university. But then she got itchy feet.
After four years with the company in the role of receptionist and service advisor she decided it was time for a break.
So Lisa, who was educated at Bluecoat School, set out to explore South East Asia and Australia.
Having got the travelling bug out of her system she returned to take up the business manager’s role.
Lisa said: “I enjoyed my early years with the company but decided I wanted to do some long haul travelling and see some exotic parts of the world.
“My time is South East Asia and Australia was fantastic, but it’s great to be back with Dane Volkswagen and I am looking forward to the challenge of the new job.”
Dane Volkswagen’s brand manager, Chris McCabe, said: “Lisa was always a valued employee and it’s great to have her back.
“I am confident that she will do well in her new job and be an asset to the company.”
