A Bury St Edmunds business didn’t have to look far for its latest managerial appointment.
Born and bred in the town, Jason Harper, has been appointed by Volkswagen Van Centre (Bury St Edmunds) as its new Local Business Development Manager bringing with him over 12 years of industry experience.
The 42-year-old began his career as a chef but soon realised his passion lay in motors, rather than cooking.
Jason has specialised in fleet sales having worked with a number of leading automotive manufacturers and believes his local knowledge has been an asset in his success.
Speaking of his new role, he said: “I am delighted to have joined Volkswagen Van Centre (Bury St Edmunds) team and take on the next challenge in my career.
“My focus will be on promoting the dedicated van centre service and the renowned Volkswagen brand to both small and large businesses that run any size of van fleet across the region.
“Having lived and worked in the area all my life I feel I have a clear understanding of customers’ needs and intend to use these skills on expanding the business.”
Head of Business at Volkswagen Van Centre (Bury St Edmunds), David Nichols, said: “The Bury St Edmunds van centre is still a young business, having opened in 2011, but has gone from strength to strength.
“We feel Jason’s expertise is the next natural progression in maintaining the van centre’s success, so we are delighted to have him as part of the team.”
