A stunning new development in the heart of Yorkshire is building top-quality three and four-bedroom homes more affordable than ever thanks to the new Help to Buy scheme, a leading house builder says.
Persimmon Homes West Yorkshire recently launched their new Scholars Gate development in the village of Royston, near Barnsley to high levels of interest.
And the builder says the 143-home site is perfect for new homebuyers looking to get the best possible home for their hard-earned cash.
Simon Whalley, Persimmon Homes West Yorkshire sales director, said increasing numbers of new buyers were able to afford larger homes because of the success of the Government-backed Help to Buy scheme, launched earlier this year.
“Help to Buy is playing a major part in making buying a home more affordable – and giving people the choice of a larger home than they might previously have had,” said Simon.
“The site at Royston is a perfect example. We have a range of three and four-bedroom homes which will provide excellent accommodation for a range of buyers. The Help to Buy scheme allows buyers to secure a home with just a five per cent deposit and as little as a 75 per cent mortgage. The remainder is made up by a Government-backed shared-equity loan which is interest-free for five years.

Scholar’s Gate is the only new development currently being marketed in Royston, and is part of a range of new developments by Persimmon across West Yorkshire.
Prices at Scholars Gate start at £133,950 for a Souter three bedroom terrace, three bedroom detached start from £172,950 and a four bedroom detached property starts at £199,950.
