A leading commercial vehicles supplier has clinched a deal which will see three of its vans converted into stunning £115,000-plus motorhomes.
The Aquila Group has already supplied one Iveco Daily 70C21 chassis cab to specialist conversion company RC Motorhomes for transformation into a luxurious nine-metre long coach-built motorhome.
And the conversion company is so delighted with the deal offered by Aquila it has already put in an order for two more of the vans to help it meet a full-to-bursting order book.
Each RC9M motorhome comes with automatic or manual transmission and includes features such as a custom-built interior, luxury double berths, fully-fitted galley kitchen with oak flooring, central heating, shower room, TV and DVD system, double glazing and its own garage area.
Will Barnett, of the Iveco Commercial Vehicle Sales team at Aquila Truck Centres in Swindon, said the Iveco was the perfect platform for the top-of-the-range motorhomes.
“The great thing about the Iveco is that it is strong and robust and will take the weight of the conversion. There is nothing else like it on the market to compete.
“It takes something like 1,800 man hours to convert each van, but what you get at the end of it is simply stunning. They have got every modern convenience, offer unrivalled quality and really do have to be seen to be believed.
“The model we supplied came with a 205 BHP twin-turbo engine, so that there is plenty of power available when it is needed. And because it is based on a van it is still fun to drive and doesn’t feel like you are at the wheels of a huge truck.”
Will said the company had had to order the vehicles direct from Iveco to supply to Devon-based RC Motorhomes which had moved from an existing supplier to Aquila because of the deal they offered.
Richard Churchill, from RC Motorhomes, said Aquila had offered an unbeatable deal on price.
“We approached several dealers with what we were looking for and Aquila came back as the keenest both in terms of price and the overall deal. All their facilities are nice and new and fresh and everything seems first rate. We are very hopeful that this is the start of a long relationship between us and Aquila.”
Richard said prices for the motorhomes started at £115,000.
“We build the interior to each customer’s own signature and we work together to create the ultimate in comfort and style to suit their needs. Options include a large rear stateroom with longitudinal bed with side steps for easy access, or a transverse rear bed allowing for even larger garage for vehicles like quads and go karts.”
Aquila Truck centres are part of the fast-growing Aquila group, established by chief executive Gary Mullaney in 2003.
The group has enjoyed a decade of expansion and now boasts bases across the Midlands and South West, supplying, maintaining and repairing fleets of trucks, coaches and specialist vehicles for over 400 customers, from major household names to small contractors. The group is a successful main dealer for MAN Truck and Bus Caterpillar, Isuzu and Neoplan, as well as Iveco.
