A national business based in the Midlands is helping to keep the regional economy growing following a new deal.
Really Awesome Coffee, which offers mobile coffee franchises across the UK, will now be solely stocked by Volkswagen vans after an initially successful link with Volkswagen Van Centre Birmingham.
The business currently has eight franchisees and is looking to increase that to over 20 in 2014, and now all will be using Volkswagen Transporter vans.
Kevin Haswell, founder of Really Awesome Coffee, is delighted to have a dedicated link with Volkswagen Van Centre Birmingham and admits the Volkswagen badge helps drive interest in the business.
“We’re a new but expanding business and it’s great to be able to utilise a fellow Midlands company to supply our franchisees with equipment that is fit for purpose,” said Kevin.
“When deciding on the vehicle to support our growing operation it was vital we had a product that had an excellent reputation. As soon as we started testing the Volkswagen Transporter, we knew we had the right van.
“Build quality and reliability were very important as this is what our franchisees require from our coffee vans – they need to stay on the road and spend as little time in the workshop as possible. This is what the Volkswagen Transporter offers.
“Working with Volkswagen Van Centre Birmingham has made the whole process so easy and we know exactly when we’re getting our vehicles, so we can convert them at our Coventry premises and pass them to our franchisees.”
It takes a month to refit the Volkswagen Transporters with all the coffee making facilities before they are sent to the next franchise, which could be anywhere in the UK.
Currently Really Awesome Coffee franchises are in Telford, Banbury, Northern Ireland, Edinburgh, Chesterfield, south Wales, Croydon and Guildford, offering a full range of gourmet espresso coffees and hot drinks along with selected refreshments -at business parks, industrial estates as well as weekend events and functions.
