A Kings Lynn business has boosted its senior management team by appointing a respected motoring expert.
Craig Gage, from Mildenhall, is the new after sales manager at Kings Lynn Volkswagen, bringing with him over 15 years experience in the automotive industry.
Responsible for the ongoing liaison with customers and management of the sales and technical teams, 29-year-old Craig, joined the team at Bergen Way just two weeks ago but has managed to settle into the role seamlessly.
Craig’s love for cars was ignited at the tender age of 13 when he opted to take on a work experience placement at a local go karting track. The track management instantly recognised Craig’s talent and he subsequently secured a part-time job. While working at the track he learnt about motors, engines and mechanics whilst also dabbling in the race directing and track timing.
He said: “From day one at the track I knew that I wanted to work with cars and as soon as I left school I got myself a technician apprenticeship at Bury St Edmunds Audi.”
During his time with Audi Craig continued to work hard and rose through the ranks to become the workshop controller.
Now at Kings Lynn Volkswagen, he is managing a team of 18 highly trained specialists and is impressed by the skill of the staff in the departments he now heads up.
“I am delighted to have joined such a highly trained and motivated team of Volkswagen experts and have been made to feel welcome from the start.
“My main focus will be to strengthen the existing good customer service and develop a strategic focus that puts customer’s needs at the heart of everything we do.”
Austin Seales, Kings Lynn Volkswagen Brand Manager, said: “We are delighted to welcome Craig to the team.
“His motoring knowledge and experience make him the ideal candidate to lead the team forward and to give confidence to our customers that they are our priority.”
