A leading local charity is reminding people looking for last minute gifts that its seven fundraising shops across the West Midlands will be open until Christmas Eve.
The Beacon Centre for the Blind has a wide range of gifts for sale at its shops in Wolverhampton, Bilston, Bloxwich, Wednesbury, Cannock, Halesowen and the centre in Sedgley – all raising much-needed funds to support visually impaired people across the Black Country and Staffordshire.
Tracey Ford, retail operations manager at the Beacon Centre for the Blind, said: “It’s a common dilemma – no matter how well we plan, we all find ourselves on Christmas Eve with one or two last minute gifts to buy. Well, worry not, the Beacon shops are open until Tuesday afternoon with some great gift solutions on offer.
“We have a selection of brand new goods including decorative items for the home and novelty mugs, as well as quality donated items waiting to be recycled to a new owner.
“And of course, not only will any of these gifts make someone’s day at Christmas, you will also get the feel-good factor from knowing that your purchase is helping to support and enrich the life of someone with sight loss in the West Midlands community.
“Every penny raised enables the Beacon Centre to help visually impaired local people live fuller and more independent lives.”
All money raised from Beacon’s charity shops supports a full range of facilities and support for partially sighted people, including a mix of residential, day care and community services.
More than 3,000 people in the community receive support from a team of dedicated outreach workers and social groups can meet at the Sedgley centre to participate in arts and crafts, music, fitness and IT sessions.
