An iconic emblem has been removed from a Swansea business as part of a major refurbishment aimed at improving its service and facilities for customers.
Sinclair Van Centre is extending and merging its existing sales and service area and redeveloping another building to create a state-of-the-art showroom and workshop.
Work is expected to be completed by the end of July and will see the Gorseinon Road business significantly increase its premises.
The new van centre will feature a five van showroom, a multi-purpose workshop and MOT facility plus an extensive used van forecourt.
Clive Hopkins, head of business at Sinclair Van Centre said: “We will remain open throughout the transformation and will operate from an adjacent building, which formerly housed our passenger car business. The work will be completed in stages to help minimise any disruption for our customers.
“We have been servicing the needs of van owners for the past 37 years and have simply outgrown our existing premises. So to maintain our service and meet business demand we needed to expand.”
The spacious new interior will provide a light and airy atmosphere and will feature clear cut lines with a servicing viewing area and an improved hospitality facility, all in line with the brand’s latest corporate design.
The showroom will display five vans from the Caddy and Transporter through to the Kombi range, as well as the Amarok pick-up.
The workshop arena will feature nine servicing ramps for van servicing and maintenance, MOTs and wheel alignment as well as a dedicated express service area.
Clive added: “This is a very exciting project for both the van centre and the Sinclair Group as this investment sends a clear message to van owners and fleet operators across Swansea and beyond that we are committed to delivering dedicated service.
“It makes me very proud that the new Swansea Van Centre will be one of the best facilities available within the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles network.
“We expect the increased service offering will enable us to strengthen our commercial vehicle presence in the area and ultimately lead to new jobs in the future.”
