Scotland’s leading housebuilder is urging first time buyers in Stirlingshire to see what they have to offer at their stunning new development in Doune.
Persimmon Homes East Scotland is offering two and three bedroom homes at their Woodland View development in Doune, from just £124,995 and, with the Government’s new Help To Buy scheme, that gives local people the chance to get on the housing ladder for as little as £109 per week.
The company praised the success of the Government’s Help to Buy Scotland, claiming the scheme has seen thousands of people get on to the property ladder sooner than they had envisioned.
Sales director Lorraine Clelland said: “We meet lots of people dreaming of owning their first home, and often they think it is completely out of reach. That is why Help to Buy is such a shot in the arm for buyers – it really does make home ownership within the grasp of many more people.
In the first six months since the launch of the pioneering scheme, Persimmon Homes Scotland has seen 415 reservations with 272 contracts exchanges and, so far 114 completions.
“Over the past eight months we have seen a number of young people take the plunge and purchase their first home, many of whom had feared they would never raise a big enough deposit to get onto the property ladder.
“This new release of two and three-bedroom homes at Woodland View is perfect for first time buyers who we know will be amazed by how much they can get for their money.
“Our ‘Portree’ two-bedroom terraced home includes a downstairs cloakroom, lounge and kitchen with French doors to the garden, making it a fantastic first home.
“Meanwhile the three-bedroom detached ‘Elgin’ is a perfect family house with a lounge and dining kitchen, three spacious bedrooms, an en-suite and a bathroom – all for just £150,396 with Help To Buy.”
“Doune is a great village to live in, conveniently located close to the motorway network making commuting to Stirling, Glasgow and Edinburgh easy. Now, with Help to Buy, anyone wanting to purchase at Woodland View will only need to put down a five per cent deposit – great news for first time buyers!”
Scotland’s Help to Buy scheme was launched on September 30, 2013, and allows buyers to purchase a new home worth up to £400,000 with a 75 per cent mortgage and five per cent deposit. An interest-free equity loan from the Scottish Government covers the balance.
Woodland View is a development of two and three-bedroom homes in the heart of Stirlingshire, with prices starting from £124,995*. The development is open for viewings from Thursday to Monday, 11am to 6pm.
