We have worked in partnership with Johnstone’s Paints since 2006 to bring colour to the beautiful game through the sponsorship of the Football League Trophy.
Our role is to maximise press coverage and social media engagement, and this year’s final between Peterborough United and Chesterfield was our best ever.
The magnificent Wembley Stadium played host to the ninth Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final and our dedicated sports sponsorship activation team offered support every step of the way.
We believe that how you activate your sports sponsorship is just as important as agreeing to become a sponsor in the first place.
Pre-final, our team took to the road on a trophy tour, visiting the good fans of Peterborough and Chesterfield, taking in club shops, shopping centres, community groups, shops and businesses.
Press coverage totalled over £250,000 in the 24 hours around the final, including a brilliant afternoon out at TalkSport and a stint on the Soccer AM sofa. The ConnectOnCamera team captured all the excitement of the big day in an exclusive video.
As well as the exciting campaigns around the final, our Johnstone’s Paint Pot Challenge continues to be a major success with clubs and fans alike. More than 70,000 people have now viewed the unique test of accuracy on the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy YouTube channel.
Social media continues to play a huge role in our campaigns, with engagement levels peaking at 170,000 Twitter views during the trophy tours and double this during the final weekend.
