A young family from Glasgow were delighted to score their dream home at a hugely popular housing development in Darnley with the help of Persimmon Homes’ Part Exchange scheme.
And with only one home remaining, the leading housebuilder is reminding house hunters in the area that it really is the last chance to secure a home at the Parklands development.
Mandy and Steven Elliott, were overjoyed to move in to their brand new four-bedroom home at the housebuilder’s sought after Parklands development with their two young children in June.
The couple, who were thrilled to have snapped up one of the 66 beautiful properties at Parklands, said they were amazed that their previous home was sold within a week of signing up to the Part Exchange scheme with Persimmon.
Mandy, 39, said: “The whole process was so easy and straight forward. Ruth Hart, the sales advisor at Parklands was great. She explained the scheme step by step making buying a new home so much simpler than we thought it would be.
“We can’t believe how quickly our old home was snapped up! I will definitely recommend Persimmon Homes and the scheme to my friends and family.”
The couple, who stepped up the property ladder from a small three-bedroom detached house to a spacious four-bedroom detached ‘Whithorn’, said they were glad they finally bit the bullet and made the move.
“We had been looking to move for years but never felt it was the right time or managed to find the right home.
“However, as we have lived nearby we were able to see the development progress and we gradually became more and more interested in making the move to Parklands.
“We love everything about our new home and the kids have settled in quickly. They particularly love having a ‘Jack-and –Jill’ style bathroom all to themselves!
“Our old house had a small kitchen and a tiny living room so we’re enjoying the benefits of having a spacious lounge as well as a family-friendly large kitchen-diner.
“We realise now that the extra space isn’t just a luxury, it’s a necessity!”
Part Exchange is a popular initiative which is ideal for those looking to move up to a larger home, but are struggling to find a buyer for their existing property, or simply want to cut out the hassle of selling the property independently.
Persimmon Homes West Scotland’s sales director, Ingrid Gahagan, said: “It’s great that Mandy and Steve have been able to move to their new house thanks to our Part Exchange scheme.
“For customers, like the Elliott family, who take advantage of the Persimmon Homes Part Exchange scheme, things couldn’t be more straightforward. We will arrange for at least two valuations, agree a market price with you and, and on receipt of an acceptable survey report, buy your existing property.
“There are no hidden marketing costs and no chains to break down, helping to make your move faster and smoother.”
Located just 15 minutes south-west of Glasgow city centre, Parklands is one of the most sought after housing estates in Darnley.
Built with families in mind, it is located in close proximity to both primary and secondary schools and is a stone’s throw away from the award-winning Pollok Country Estate and Rouken Glen Park.
“The development has proved hugely successful and, although we are thrilled, I can’t say we are surprised. Darnley is a perfect place to set up home and with just one property remaining at Parklands, we’re delighted to introduce our new Glenmill development to the area.”
For anyone who misses out on a property a Parklands, located just half a mile away is the recently released Glenmill development featuring 150 traditional semi-detached and detached three, four and five- bedroom homes which has already seen a flurry of reservations before any homes have even been built.
Ingrid added: “We were delighted with the success of Parkland s and are witnessing a repeat performance at Glenmill. Located even closer to the M77 and local amenities, we’re confident that Glenmill will be a huge success.”
