Yale Europe Materials Handling has been shortlisted in two categories in the prestigious Fork Lift Truck Association (FLTA) Awards.
Yale is in the running for an “Archie” in the ergonomics and innovation categories for its ground-breaking MR series reach truck.
The FLTA Awards are now in their 21st year and is the most prestigious annual event in the materials handling industry calendar. The awards encourage and reward examples of excellence throughout the fork lift truck industry and culminate in an Oscars-style ceremony.
The winners will be determined by an online ballot with votes open from December by visiting www.fork-truck.org.uk and clicking on “awards”. Voting closes on January 15th 2015.
The new Yale MR series boasts a number of industry firsts, helping it secure its place as a finalist in the innovation category. These include touch screen technology that allows operators to be in full control throughout the shift.
Dual CANbus and ‘Get Home’ function, as well as laser positioning, which allows the operator to work faster and reduce accidental damage to products and tracking.
A unique new design of mast channels (patent pending) allows smaller capacity trucks to be used for lift heights that would previously have required larger and more expensive models.
The Yale MR Reach Truck is also a strong contender in the ergonomics category as a result of its outstanding levels of operator comfort. The unique and intuitive Yale mini joystick and Accutouch minilever control module allow the operator to execute precise hydraulic control operation and load movements to be executed with confidence.
Increased operator space, a fully adjustable suspension seat with lumbar support that reduces whole body vibration combined with class-leading visibility to provide the operator with an enviable working environment.
Mike Phelan, Yale regional manager – UK and Ireland, said: “These are the most prestigious materials handling industry awards and it is an honour to be shortlisted in not one, but two categories.
“We are extremely proud of the Yale MR Reach Truck, which since its introduction has contributed significantly to increasing operational efficiency. This lift truck series really does live up to the company’s tagline “People. Products. Productivity.” delivering on all three fronts.
“We are looking forward to an exciting night at the FLTA Awards and we hope that people in our industry will recognise the difference the MR Reach Truck can make and get behind us by voting for Yale.”
The awards ceremony takes place on February 28th. It will be hosted by ITV London Tonight’s Jonny Gould, a highly-regarded broadcaster, MC and event host with over 17 years’ live TV experience. The winners in each category will be presented with a statuette of Archimedes, affectionately known as an Archie.
