A youngster from Shipley has been named as the winner of a Yorkshire housebuilder’s drawing competition after designing their ‘Dream Home for Christmas’.
Persimmon Homes West Yorkshire presented George Grech, aged six, with a Lego Creator House set, worth around £50, after being impressed by his design.
The contest was launched as part of the builder’s countdown to Christmas and the sales team was delighted with how many youngsters in the region took part.
Simon Whalley, sales director for Persimmon Homes West Yorkshire, said: “We were very pleased with the number of entries we received it really sparked children’s imaginations across the region.
“We thoroughly enjoyed seeing their entries and found it hard to pick a winner but George’s colourful three storey design showed great creativity and certainly stood out from the rest.”
George’s mother, Rebecca Grech, said: “We are delighted that George won the competition, he loves Lego which is why he was so keen to enter, but we never imagined he would win.
“He spent all afternoon on his design and took it very seriously so we are very pleased that his hard work was all worth it.”
Persimmon Homes West Yorkshire currently has sites across Bradford, Leeds, Morley, Huddersfield, Pontefract, Barnsley and Castleford producing homes for everyone from first-time buyers and professional couples to growing families and downsizers.
