Two local surveyors are playing with pride as their employer is also sponsor for their rugby team.
Long Buckby Rugby Club members Sam Goodall and Douglas Burroughs both work for Persimmon Homes Midlands, based at Northampton, sponsors of their team.
Kevin Johnson, commercial director for Persimmon Midlands, said: “As a company we take great pleasure in working with the local community wherever we operate and we are particularly proud to see two of our own employees sporting kit bearing our name.
“Long Buckby Rugby Club has teams from senior level right down to beginners, so is truly a community club. We wish them success at every level.”
The club, which plays from Station Road in Long Buckby, includes squads from under-6s.
Team manager Duncan Frankland, said: “We are always grateful for corporate support from local businesses, so thank Persimmon Homes for their sponsorship. The new kit looks very professional.
“Our young team is ambitious and having just missed out on promotion this season, it is well within our sights for next season’s campaign. This exciting partnership will create a more level playing field in terms of the sponsorship we have, compared to teams higher in the league system.
“We are keen to reward this support by taking our young team further, giving Persimmon Homes greater exposure as our sponsor whilst benefiting from the financial support they provide.”
Persimmon Homes Midlands builds new homes across Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
