Persimmon Homes is used to providing homes for families across Devon but for one sales team they know the value of just that.
Catherine Browne and Jane and Amy Cartwright are three members of the same family and all part of the sales team at Persimmon Homes South West.
Together they have clocked up 11 years with the company and originate from Sparkwell outside Plymouth.
Catherine, aged 51, is the elder sister of Jane, 46, who in turn is the mother of Amy, 22.
The family’s association with the company stretches back to seven years when Jane, now a sales manager, joined on a zero hour contract.
She said: “I started doing adhoc shifts and did that for about five year before doing part time two days a week.
“I took a sabbatical but returned and worked my way up the ladder. I was then awarded sales advisor of the year in 2014 and I’ve gone on from there to sales manager.
“It was my sister who asked me to return and we worked together in Drakes Hill, Plympton it was a lot of fun and I enjoyed working with her.”
Catherine, who has worked in construction for more than 20 years, added: “Jane and I have always had a good relationship and our father was a highly thought of salesman so there must be something in the genes.
“It’s great to see Amy coming on and creating her own career so I think the fairy dust has sprinkled onto her too.
“As a family we understand and empathise with customers, we know what it’s like to be a first time buyer or have a dream home in mind so that helps all people involved.”
Amy, who has been with the company for a year, said: “It’s actually really good having my mum as a boss.
“She’s probably harsher on me than the others in the sales team but I don’t mind that because we get on really well.
“It’s good to have someone at work to give you guidance and it helps more that I have both my mum and aunt working there.”
