New Year, new job? The last decade has seen a significant change in the way we work, which in turn has seen an increase in demand for certain skills.
LinkedIn recently released its list of top emerging jobs in 2020, highlighting job titles that have not only grown over the last five years but also emerged as a result of work trends. As part of the report, the employment platform also predicts that the demand for these roles will continue to increase this year.
This year’s report highlighted many engineering roles, from artificial intelligence to data science, as well as roles such as chief revenue officer and behavioural health technicians.
Taking the top spot was artificial intelligence specialists, which saw demand for this job title increase by a whopping 74%. In second place was robots engineer, with a growth rate of 40% and job variation between software and hardware roles. Data scientist roles came in third place, and hiring this talent varies from information technology and services to financial services and higher education.
