Ever wondered how long your social media posts can be? Most of us are aware of twitter’s 280-character limit, but that is not the only channel with restrictions. We’ve pulled together all social media post lengths, so you don’t run out of room.
Whilst the platform is usually full of a variety of different post types, Facebook has a maximum character count of 63,206. You won’t be penalised for using images or videos in your posts either!
LinkedIn statuses can be up to 700 characters long on company page posts and up to 1,300 characters for statuses on individual accounts. However, articles have no real character limit so you don’t need to worry about squeezing in everything that you want to say.
Twitter recently upped its 140-character limit to 280 for all tweets. Using an image, gif, or video doesn’t take away from this limit.
Unlike other social media platforms, Instagram is media-centric. Currently, Instagram captions can be up to 2,200 characters long and can contain up to 30 hashtags in the whole post.
Youtube
When you are posting to YouTube, it is important to keep in mind how long your video titles and descriptions can be. A YouTube title has a maximum length of 100 characters, although it is recommended that you try and keep it under 70 characters to ensure your title shows up everywhere. Your description however can be up to 5,000 characters long.
