Mariah Carey has officially announced its Christmas.
I know what you’re thinking, ‘it’s only November’, but this year’s Christmas adverts have already hit our screens sparking conversation about who tops this year’s charts.
Due to global supply chain issues partnered with a shortage of delivery drivers – many retailers have dropped their festive marketing almost three weeks earlier than previous years.
However, no matter how early they’ve arrived, the festive season really is upon us. So, without further ado – why not read on to see 8848’s round-up of some of this year’s best adverts.
John Lewis – Unexpected Guest
John Lewis, the most anticipated and arguably the most famous Christmas advert of all.
The advert showcases a short-sweet story celebrating the joy of Christmas. It features a young school boy who meets an alien that has fallen from a UFO in the sky and he shows her Christmas for the first time.
Although sticking with the tried and tested formula, it’s not the normal tearjerker advert that John Lewis produces and the ad has sparked conversations online regarding it’s ‘Christmas’ feeling?
Just seen the John Lewis advert for the first time.. very disappointed. Aliens? Not remotely Christmassy. pic.twitter.com/Opp3c54f3t

Although it may not be man on the moon, John Lewis has still performed.
Aldi – Ebanana Scrooge
We can confirm the rumors are false. Kevin is back and in GREAT spirit.
Aldi has featured Kevin the carrot for the 6th consecutive year in their 2021 Christmas advert.
Inspired by the Charles Dickens classic ‘A Christmas Carol’, cold-hearted banana (Ebanana Scrooge) has his christmas faith restored by Kevin in what is a christmassy and heart-warming advert.
Aldi have won Christmas, by far the best advert for 2021.

The advert, which also features Marcus Rashford, is set to give away over 1.8 million meals to families in need over the festive season. A clear winner in our eyes.
Bonus points if you spot Cuthbert in the background!
Amazing advert from Aldi, I'm not a very Christmassy person but this was class. Got me laughing at Marcus Radishford lmao https://t.co/h4dJtPsrDh

Boots – Bags Of Joy
Boots’ three minute christmas movie features BAFTA winning star Jenna Coleman representing ‘Joy’. The advert is aimed at reconnecting families with their loved ones and their love of gifting this Christmas.

The advert marks Boots’ biggest campaign in four years, with a reach of more than 18 million adults. It has been met with great praise on social media and is definitely up there as one of our high contenders.
M&S – Percy Pig Comes to Life
From a bag of sweets, to Tom Holland as the voice of Percy Pig – it’s fair to say Marks and Spencer have come a long way.
The advert begins with the lights shut off in the store before Dawn French (the Christmas fairy) drops her wand on Percy Pig, bringing him to life.
So I’ve not even watched the John Lewis ad but M&S win cause they have Tom Holland narrating Percy pig in their ad.

Showcasing their fabulous food, the advert represents all kinds of Christmas magic. Having been released on the same day as John Lewis, there has been debate online as to which ad is more superior.
But, if there’s one thing we can all agree on – it’s that we wouldn’t mind being locked in the M&S Foodhall at night.
JD – Welcome to JD Street
JD did not hold back with the stars in this year’s Christmas ad. From music to sporting personalities, this year’s star-studded advert features the likes of Maya Jama, KSI, Jadon Sancho and many more.
JD must have spent some serious money on their Christmas advert, they had everybody in there

The advert aims to reflect the youth and culture of today whilst adding a touch of Christmas magic at each high street store.
Barbour – Paddington Please Look After this Bear
Barbour has collaborated with Paddington Bear to create what is arguably the cutest Christmas advert this year. Or even of all time…
Paddington Bear provides the most thoughtful idea as he re-wax’s Mr Brown’s favourite coat for his Christmas gift. The coat also contains a note inside from Paddington which reads “thank you for looking after me.”
The advert reflects what is really important at Christmas – as well as being a complete tearjerker.

Disney – The Stepdad
We can always count on Disney to create a magical advert at Christmas – and this year has certainly not disappointed.
The three-minute animated film has expanded on the campaign ‘From our Family to Yours’ featuring a heartwarming family where love is at the heart of everything.
The @Disney Christmas advert is EVERYTHINGGGGG!

The advert celebrates the power of Disney along with storytelling and how it can deepen family bonds. Packed to the brim with Disney, as well as plenty of Christmas magic – we are in love with this year’s advert.
