The start of a new year is the perfect time for a moment of reflection.
It goes without saying that 2021 was a very different year – but here at 8848 Communications it was also a very busy one!
From new starters to new clients with exciting new campaigns along the way, we certainly made the most of the last 12 months.
We brought towns and cities to a standstill with a thrilling treasure hunt throughout September, helping tech giants Box celebrate its 25th anniversary in style – bringing out the crowds, causing a storm on social media and generating press coverage galore.

It’s been another memorable year in our long-standing partnership with Selco Builders Warehouse: helping at new store openings, securing national media exposure with the builders merchants’ innovative approach to solving the HGV driver crisis and cranking up the excitement at the World Darts Championship at Christmas with a £100k giveaway.
We helped Persimmon Homes fly the Team GB flag in an unexpected Olympic year with a sensational Building Futures campaign featuring sporting stars such as Kristian Smith, Sam Oldham and Hannah Macleod and a huge £1 million investment in communities.
The Children's Hospital Charity was one of the big winners in our Building Futures charity campaign, which supports under-18s across the nation.

We’ve Given London A Lift and supported new store openings with decorating and DIY specialists Leyland SDM and cooked up a storm by raising the profile of Nelson Distillery’s gin partnership with world renowned chef Michel Roux Jr.
We helped national waste management specialists CSG to showcase their environmental expertise alongside the COP26 conference and supported Travelworld in smashing motorhome sales records as the staycation holiday industry boomed.
We delivered effective, consistent PR for leading consultants Pegasus Group, securing more than £100,000 in press coverage for them, and celebrated 20 years of working with leading Midlands’ legal firm Higgs LLP.
Our digital marketing team helped Goodyear Farm Tires introduce a brand new website and influencer management has been the order of the day with Cricut UK as the nation channeled its creative side.
Our dedicated customer support team continued to stand alongside Baxi Heating and its Works Loyalty Scheme, handling over 40,000 calls across the year and continuing to secure excellent reviews from their installer network.
The team also continued the excellent work that has been done over the past three years with Rexel UK and Denmans Electrical in helping deliver its nationwide NPS programmes, with outstanding results.
2021 also brought fabulous new additions to our client list including leading training provider Realise, one of the biggest names in crafting, Cricut, health and wellbeing brand Lifeplan, TG Lynes, Lamp Shop Online and Wheeldon Trees Cottages.
At The Farm:
We welcomed two new account managers in Sam Pollock and Sarah Burton, as well as a new digital account manager, Marco Guerreiro. Account executive Millie Warrilow also joined the team, along with Georgia Homer, our first degree apprentice in the role of digital marketing executive. Growing our customer service department, customer management specialist Laura Morgan joined and Tom Barnes arrived as our new Video News Manager.
Not only have we celebrated seven new members of staff but 2021 has also been a year of new beginnings with three weddings – congratulations to Sam Pollock and his wife Sophie, Charlotte Bennett and husband Paul and Charlee Painter and her husband James.
What a year – and now we are ready to do it all again!
