Brilliant PR pictures

In PR, there’s nothing better than brilliant pictures. At 8848 we work with some amazing professionals who capture the moment better than any dodgy mobile phone ever could. A great picture is usually the difference between a front-page lead and a page seven snippet.

However, we’re realists at 8848 and know that clients can’t always afford the cost or the time to book a professional. With social media moving so fast, a great iPhone image is all you need. But do you really know what your iPhone can do?

In this blog we’re going to look at camera modes.

The iPhone has a variety of different camera modes, each designed for a specific type of shot.

Photo mode

This is the standard camera mode that you’ll use for most of your photos. It takes sharp and detailed images in a variety of lighting conditions.

Portrait mode

This mode creates a depth-of-field effect that keeps your subject sharp while blurring the background. This can be great for taking portraits of people or pets, or for making your subject stand out from the crowd.

Landscape mode

This mode is ideal for taking photos of landscapes, such as mountains, beaches, and cityscapes. It takes wide-angle photos that capture more of the scene.

Square mode

This mode takes photos in a square format, which is perfect for sharing on social media.

Pano mode

This mode takes panoramic photos, which are wide-angle photos that stitch together multiple images to create one large image.

Night mode

This mode is designed for taking photos in low light conditions. It uses a longer exposure time and software processing to capture bright and detailed images without using the flash. On most iPhones, night mode turns on automatically. Here’s a few tips:

  1. Open Camera . In low-light situations, Night mode turns on automatically.
  2. Tap the Night mode button at the top of the screen to turn Night mode off and on.
  3. To experiment with Night mode, tap the Camera Controls button, tap the Night mode button in the row of options at the bottom of the screen, then drag the slider left or right to choose between the Auto and Max timers. With Auto, the time is determined automatically; Max uses the longest exposure time. The setting you choose is saved for your next Night mode shot.
  4. Tap the Shutter button, then hold your iPhone still to take your shot.Crosshairs appear in the frame if your iPhone detects movement during capture—align the crosshairs to help you reduce motion and improve the shot.To stop taking a Night mode shot mid-capture, tap the Stop button below the slider.

Cinematic mode

This mode creates a shallow depth-of-field effect that is similar to what you would see in a movie. This can be used to create a more dramatic and cinematic look for your videos.

Slo-mo mode

This mode lets you record videos in slow motion. This can be a fun and creative way to capture moments that you want to savour.

Time-lapse mode

This mode lets you record videos that speed up time. This can be a great way to capture long events, such as a sunrise or sunset, in a short amount of time.

To switch between camera modes, simply swipe left or right on the camera screen. You can also tap on the different camera mode icons at the bottom of the screen.
