New creative designer for 8848

Midlands-based marketing agency, 8848, has expanded its creative capabilities with the appointment of new designer Sophie Casewell.

Joining the 8848 team from EDGE Creative, Sophie brings a wealth of experience in transforming brand visions into compelling digital experiences across TikTok, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Her expertise will be instrumental in driving innovative and engaging campaigns for 8848’s diverse client base.

Sophie will work closely with Simon Russell-Smith, 8848’s head of creative who joined the agency earlier this year. Simon is a Midlands’ agency creative veteran with time spent with Juice, Palmer Hargreaves and Wallis Tomlinson.

8848 has experienced significant growth since its successful management buyout in April 2023. The buyout was led by James Garrison and Charlotte Bennett who have secured further new clients and expanded the team in the last 12 months.

The agency offers a comprehensive suite of marketing services, including design, PR, and strategic communication, empowering businesses of all sizes to achieve their goals.

James said: “Our focus in the last year has been on brand and growth. The appointment of Simon and now Sophie has further expanded our capabilities as we look to the next stage of our development.”

Sophie holds a First-Class Honours degree in Visual Communication (Graphic Design and Illustration) from the University of Wolverhampton. Outside of work, she enjoys painting and drawing, archery and crochet. She’s a keen baker so expect some weight gain at the 8848 office.

Recent 8848 campaigns include a celebration of alumni for the University of Wolverhampton, the launch of further stores for London-based Leyland and the rebrand of UK copper specialist Metelec.
