A group of runners from a Volkswagen retailer are aiming to raise £2,000 for Cancer Research UK by completing in a series of Race for Life events in South Wales.
The team of 18 ladies from Sinclair Volkswagen in Cardiff and Newport have successfully accomplished the Bute Park 5k race in Cardiff and have committed to a further four races over the coming months.
The automotive group is showing its support to ‘The Sinclair Pink Ladies’ by pledging to raise the money raised to the nearest thousand, which has provided an additional boost to the team.
Team member and Sinclair’s group quality manager, Alida Smith said: “We are a mixture of experienced and novice runners who are determined to help raise awareness and support the wonderful work of Cancer Research.
“We are delighted that our employers are supporting us in such a generous way and this has really spurred us on to raise as much as possible.”
Clive Williams, operation manager for the Sinclair Group added: “We are very proud of ‘The Sinclair Pink Ladies’ and pleased to be able to support such a worthy cause.
“We wish them all the greatest success for their next race.”
