Speedy, the UK’s leading provider of equipment rental and support services, is offering darts fanatics the sporting chance of a lifetime with an invitation to qualify for one of the game’s biggest tournaments – with the help of a hugely popular world champion.
Speedy has 16 places up for grabs for the UK Open at the Reebok Stadium in June, which will be divided over four qualifying events in Bristol, Dartford, Stoke and Glasgow.
Whoever succeeds will then move a step closer to a date with Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor and the leading lights of the darting world at the Speedy Hire UK Open itself.
Speedy has also enlisted the help of 2004 World Champion Andy Fordham, who will be present at each event to offer coaching tips for each player.
Budding throwers will be given 15 darts at the board, with the highest four scores overall at each event winning a place at the Speedy Hire UK Open at the Reebok Stadium in June.
The first qualifying event will take place at the official launch of the Speedy Bristol Superstore on Tuesday April 12, followed by a visit to its Dartford depot on Wednesday April 13.
It will then move up to its Speedy Stoke Superstore on Thursday April 14 before concluding qualifying at the opening of the new Speedy Glasgow Power Superstore on Friday April 15.
Speedy’s group marketing director Steve McIntyre said: “Existing Speedy customers are encouraged to enter along with dart enthusiasts who are also interested in finding out more about Speedy’s product and service offering.
“No other sporting event can offer an incentive like this, where fans can actually qualify to play their heroes, in front of millions of TV viewers across the world.
“As if this wasn’t enough, we have enlisted the help of former world champion Andy Fordham, who will be at each event with some expert advice for each player.

The Speedy Hire UK Open will take place from 2 to 5 June 2011 and Steve said that the sight of Speedy’s branding around the Reebok Stadium will represent the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the brand.
