Our client Persimmon Homes, one of the UK’s leading housebuilders, says demand for its homes remains high in the region with forward sales for 2017 already running 4% higher than at the same point last year.
The company released its trading update for the third quarter, which covers 1 July to 1 November 2016.
Persimmon welcomed a 19% increase in private sales compared to the same period last year, with visitor numbers to sites across the region remaining well ahead too.
The popular Government-funded Help to Buy Equity Loan is available until 2021, to support purchasers with just a 5% deposit.
Persimmon also announced an investment in a group-wide manufacturing capability with the construction of a new brickworks factory. The new facility, based in Doncaster, will provide a substantial proportion of the company’s requirement for bricks and block paving and will be commissioned in the first quarter of 2017. The facility will manufacture up to 80 million concrete bricks a year and will create between 25 and 30 new jobs.
The business has 28 regional businesses and in 2017, a further office will be added in Nottingham. The new office, based in Mansfield, will create up to 50 office-based jobs, along with further jobs out on site and with suppliers. The business will eventually build up to 600 new homes each year.
The company’s hugely successful Community Champions programme continues to go from strength to strength with over 1,000 charities now supported and nearly £1 million donated. Small groups and charities in this area can apply for a donation by visiting www.persimmonhomes.com/charity.
Persimmon is recruiting across every region to support its build programme. A full list of current job vacancies at Persimmon Homes can be found by visiting www.persimmonjobs.com.
