A senior appointment is set to further strengthen the Dispute Resolution Team at leading West Midlands law firm Higgs & Sons by enhancing the firm’s debt recovery services.
Robert Burke joins Higgs as Head of Debt Recovery having been in senior roles at Irwin Mitchell’s debt recovery subsidiary, Ascent where he specialised in managing clients in respect of b2b debt collection.
Rob has been a debt recovery specialist for more than 15 years, and his varied background has seen him work in consumer and commercial debt recovery, delivering collection services to UK and global household business names as well as SMEs and sole traders.
Rob commented: “I’m very much looking forward to joining Higgs’ team of specialist lawyers, and helping to deliver a personal service to our clients.
“Higgs & Sons has an extremely strong reputation in the region, with a great ethos. My role will help to bring added value to the firm’s impressive existing commercial client base as well as developing the commercial debt recovery product base to new clients in the West Midlands and beyond.”
He added: “Almost every business across all industry sectors experiences late payment at some point which can cause considerable cash-flow problems. Often it is only the escalation to professional legal recovery that resolves the issue of non-payment.

Rob is originally from the South West, but has been based in the Midlands since March this year. The 44-year-old has four daughters and in his spare time enjoys running, golf and live music gigs.
