A Bury St Edmunds van centre has announced its continued support for the work carried out by the town’s hospice by backing its household clearance scheme.
Volkswagen Van Centre (Bury St Edmunds), in Northern Way, has supplied two Crafter Luton’s to St Nicholas Hospice Care and agreed to sponsor the vehicles by paying for the signwriting and decals on each vehicle.
The freshly-sign written vans were officially handed over by Jason Harper, Local Business Development Manager at the Volkswagen Van Centre, which is part of the Marriott Motor Group,who said the business was proud to support such a worthwhile cause.
He added: “I was delighted to receive the opportunity to supply and sponsor both vehicles to such a great charity.
“We worked with the finance director and their house clearance team to source the most suitable Luton conversion to pair up with our versatile Volkswagen Crafter chassis to suit their specific requirements.
“This really demonstrates the relevance of the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles customer centric strategy of ‘Working With You’ – I was proud to be involved.”
The household clearance scheme is a growing service provided by St Nicholas Hospice Care which is meeting a real need in the community, throughout West Suffolk and south and west Norfolk.
Finance director Rachel Spencer said: “It is a bespoke and sensitive service for people who need to clear a house because they have lost a loved one or because someone is leaving their home.
“We carefully wrap all their items and take them away but the service is providing a wonderful stream of income for the hospice and gives us even more great items to sell through our online sites and 11 shops.
“We are very fortunate to have the support of the Marriott group. The help they have provided us as a charity, together with their latest support, is part of a wider partnership that we are building with them locally.”
