South East business pioneers revolutionary recruitment scheme

A South East business is leading the way in digital technology by launching the UK’s first recruitment drive using QR coding.

QR code is a mass of shapes that form a ‘barcode’ and is short for Quick Response as it can be read quickly by a mobile phone. They are used to store, and digitally present, a huge amount of information, including url links, geo co-ordinates, and text.

Citygate Volkswagen, with sites in Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Middlesex, is using the revolutionary barcode to advertise for a role of digital marketing manager.

The company’s marketing and communications manager, Simon Bennett, said: “We’re very excited to be utilising new methods of recruitment in the UK and leading the way for companies in the digital age.

“Citygate has spent time researching new and original ways to advertise and we know QR coding is the future, but needs testing in different environments.

“As a business it’s important we take advantage of new digital technology to ensure customers are given the most up-to-date information using equipment they already have.”
