Ipswich technician makes the grade

An Ipswich technician has been awarded Automotive Technician Accreditation (ATA) status, after committing to an intensive training qualification to lead the way in automotive care and customer service.

Aaron Bloomfield of HiQ Ipswich has put his fast fit centre firmly in the driving seat after becoming one of the only technicians in the county to achieve this accolade.

Regulated by the Institute of Motor Industry, ATA is a regulatory programme that commits technicians to an ethical code of conduct and is regarded as the most prestigious qualification in the fast fit industry.

Aaron passed the programme which requires a theory based module and then practical assessments specific to their field of expertise.

Aaron is now listed on the ATA website which allows consumers to search for their nearest garage with registered technicians, giving peace of mind that work will be carried out correctly.

Speaking of his accreditation Aaron said: “You don’t realise how much industry knowledge you have until you’re put to the test.

“I’m pleased to have passed the accreditation and to be acknowledged for my skills.”

HiQ Ipswich’s franchisee Mark Buckenham said: “This is a great achievement, well done to Aaron.

“It is important to reassure our customers that we have a competent team who know how to do the job. By having this accreditation, we are strengthening our business offering to the local area.”

HiQ Fast Fit Manager Stuart Carr said: “To gain ATA accreditation is no mean feat, so well done to Aaron.
“HiQ has made a promise to get every one of our 700 technicians accredited by the end of 2012 but with talented technicians like Aaron leading the way, I am confident we are well on track to achieve this.
“We are committed to training our technicians to the highest level, and we use the ATA assessment programme to verify the work carried out through the HiQ Academy.”
