It was the brief of dreams. Take a successful retreat of holiday cottages and create a brand which matched its beauty.
Wheeldon Trees Cottages changed hands in June 2021. The Peak District retreat of nine cottages had been run as a family-friendly bolt hole where young visitors could pet animals and older guests were guaranteed a relaxing break away from the madding crowd.
The new owner wanted to take the stunning retreat and further elevate it at all levels. This meant investing in the cottages and landscape, launching a brand new luxury farmhouse and increasing the offering for guests.
To support this, a totally new brand which touched visitors at every point during their journey with Wheeldon Trees.
Call for new branding:
8848 was given a free hand to deliver the new brand. Under the leadership of creative director Ade Wilde, the results speak for themselves. With new creative direction, a new tone of voice and a winning communications journey from the minute visitors click the new website to when they drive out of the retreat after their stay.
New owner Steve Roche says the agency delivered across the board. “Wheeldon Trees is simply stunning. It’s nestled under the famous Peak District High Wheeldon offering guests a total escape. Not forgetting having Buxton and Bakewell right on our doorstep.
“Ade has delivered a brand which matches this beauty and shows a clear intent to our guests of what to expect when they book a stay with us.
“On copy, Andrew Sheldrick perfectly captured Wheeldon Trees – lines including relaxing stays that stay with you. As well as this, counting sheep for fun not sleep have all helped to tell our story. Our guests love it.
“The speed in which the agency worked was also brilliant. In just four months I have a brand, a customer journey and a new fully functioning responsive website.”
8848 has totally rebranded the Wheeldon Trees retreat. New signage has been installed throughout – from welcome boards to carpark signage, honesty shop and laundry room branding, cottage welcome books and tote bags to branded wallpaper.
The new website now lives and breathes a Peak District luxury retreat as well as a social media strategy which delivers daily bookings.
