The challenge
Joining the police force is a big decision to make. While the many benefits speak for themselves, it’s only natural that potential recruits may be apprehensive that they don’t fit the role.
West Mercia Police approached 8848 to create a new design concept to appeal to a varied audience to promote the benefits of working for West Mercia Police. They wanted to promote the hugely positive difference the service makes to the people of Herefordshire, Shropshire and Worcestershire.
How did we do?
We created a campaign that aims to dispel the myths around roles within the police. Our campaign highlighted that even though you’ll be joining a UK community of more than 140,000 people, you will have the right and freedom to be yourself.
The campaign’s focus was on increasing applications for police officers in all routes of entry, from direct entry to detectives, PCSOs and staff support roles.
Our final work encompassed a creative strategy which expanded to a multi-platform advertising campaign, organic social media and print.
