A charitable Frome entrepreneur has taken on a hair raising challenge to raise over £250 for the fight against prostate cancer after pledging his support to Movember.
Chris Davison, owner and franchisee of HiQ Frome on Handlemaker Road, is half way to owning a tom sellock style moustache in support of the charity, after a family member’s experience of prostate cancer urged him to get involved.
Since opening the business in September, Chris and his team have actively participated in HiQ’s breast cancer awareness month, raising money for HiQ’s official charity partner Breast Cancer Care through a trio of open days.
In his latest charity gesture, Chris explains how it is more of a personal challenge in aid of the Movember foundation and has thanked his staff and customers for their support.
He said: “My father-in-law has had experience of prostate cancer and it really brings home the fact that it affects so many men and can happen at any given time.
“I felt it was really important to get involved in Movember and the tash is coming on nicely; I feel like I’m reliving the eighties!
“I haven’t quite managed to convince the technicians to each grow a moustache but they are fully supporting my pledge, even if it has caused a few laughs at my expense!
“I’m really hoping to raise as much as I can for this great cause and I must thank anyone who has donated.”
