A motoring pioneer is being remembered following the naming of a new housing development in Hampshire.
The exclusive Charles Church development in Micheldever Station is being called Ellis Mews, after Evelyn Ellis, the first person to drive a motor car without an escort, almost 120 years ago.
Set in a rural Hampshire, the location provides peaceful country living and is the perfect way for commuters to London to relax, which ties in with the reason for the name of the development.
Charles Church Southern’s sales director, Tracey Lee, said: “Naming new housing developments gives us chance to focus on local events and people, both past and present.
“Evelyn is an historical figure for British industry and we hope the homes that are built at Ellis Mews will be around in 120 years.
“There will be 23 properties built in total including, one and two bedroom apartments and two, three and four bedroom houses.
“Ellis Mews is another example of Charles Church’s long-standing reputation for creating luxurious quality homes in sought-after locations.
“Micheldever Station is set only a few miles from one of the country’s best loved cities, Winchester, and is also the perfect location to enjoy the surrounding countryside and picturesque villages.”
Ellis Mews opens on 12th May. For further information on Charles Church’s homes at Ellis Mews contact 08434 870 632.
