Christmas has come early for two lucky youngsters in the region who have been announced the winners of the Charles Church Southern festive competition to design the company Christmas card.
Isobel Legg, 12, and Grace Wetherall, 8, worked their artistic magic to come up with a design for the premier house builder, and were rewarded for their efforts with a printed copy of their design, an iPod and art kit, and a wonderful £250 voucher for their schools.
Tracey Lee, marketing and sales director of Charles Church Southern, said: “We constantly strive to build relationships with the communities in which our developments are located and work closely with a small number of schools hosting site visits and also seeking their assistance when naming sites.
“This time, we decided to asked local youngsters to come up with a design for the company Christmas card, and the creativity demonstrated in many of the entries made it hard for us to decide on the winning artists.
“The entry from Isobel is a favourite as it shows a warm and traditional Christmas scene, and we love Grace’s use of a range of art materials to design her Christmas tree. Both cards stood out to us here at Charles Church Southern, and we are pleased to have their designs represent us over the Christmas period.”
Isobel, from The Marist Senior School in Sunningdale, and Grace, from St Francis Catholic School in Ascot, were presented with the prizes in their whole school assemblies where they celebrated with their fellow pupils.
The Marist Senior School intend to put the £250 vouchers towards a long-awaited drawing tablet for the art department, and St Francis Catholic School are looking to spend the voucher on brand new books for the school.
