Melksham housebuilder backs drive to keep our streets safe

Residents can keep themselves safe and their homes secure thanks to a crime-fighting day backed by a leading  Melksham housebuilder.

Charles Church Wessex, which has a development on Skylark Road, has sponsored a local neighbourhood watch event as part of its ongoing support to the local community.

The event, to be held on Saturday 8th June at Melksham House from 11am-3pm, will include representatives from the local police constabulary, fire service and organisations such as the Melksham Community Area Partnership, Melksham Parish Council and Trading Standards.

Sue Stoker, spokeswoman for the Melksham Neighbourhood Watch, said: “This event wouldn’t have taken place if it wasn’t for the generosity shown by Charles Church.

“We have invited a number of different organisations to attend the event, so that advice can be given to ensure that people keep their homes and themselves safe.”

The event is free to attend while a raffle on the day will raise money for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance Trust and the Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust.

Pauline Fletcher, sales and marketing manager of Charles Church Wessex, said: “We are very supportive of any community initiative, but especially one that ensures the safety of residents and the building a strong community in which we can all live.

“This event is set to benefit so many people in the local area and we hope our support will further increase the awareness of the work undertaken by the Melksham Neighbourhood Watch.”
