A Volkswagen car dealer helped raise cash to fight breast cancer – and increase awareness of a special driving scheme for the disabled at the same time.
Corkills Volkswagen of Wigan donated £300 to Asda’s Tickled Pink campaign after staging a special event to promote Motability at the supermarket’s superstore in Wigan.
Jacqui Kaye, Brand Manager at Corkills Volkswagen, said the event had been a resounding success on all fronts.
She said: “We were delighted to team up with Asda to support a number of good causes. Not only did we build awareness of our Motability scheme, we were also pleased to assist Asda’s Tickled Pink campaign.
“On the day we also offered all Motability drivers the opportunity to purchase a Polo or Golf with no advance payment and received a high level of interest.”
“Motability is a great way for people with a disability to be mobile and have the freedom to travel.”
Anyone in receipt of the Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance (DLA) or the War Pensioners Mobility Supplement is eligible for the Motability scheme.
Corkills, which has a team of specially-trained Motability experts in their store, provide expert advice on choosing the right cars and making the appropriate adjustments to meet customers’ needs.
“We find most people with disabilities know about the scheme but do not necessarily know how it works or what cars would best suit them,” Jacqui said.
“Our fully-trained Motability experts are always on hand to provide excellent advice on eligibility for the scheme, how to apply, the range of Volkswagen vehicles available to them as well as advising on what adjustments could be made to the car to make driving as easy as possible.”
