A senior school teacher who chose the fixtures, fittings and flooring for a Telford new build gave them all up to buy a similar town house just across the road.
When Louise Dixon found the perfect new home for her and her two teenagers, Persimmon Homes quickly helped her to sell her large Leegomery property using one of its part exchange schemes. So quickly in fact, that she and the children found themselves ‘staying with friends’ while they waited for their Lawley Village property to be built.
Language teacher Louise said: “I’d chosen the house I wanted, the fixtures and fittings I wanted in the kitchen and the bathrooms. I couldn’t have asked for more help or better advice from the Persimmon team.
“But while the new house was being built, the stresses and strains of two families with teenage children living together made the need for us to move increasingly necessary – especially as both of my children were due to sit major exams.”
On a chance visit to the site at Coppice Grove, Lawley Village, Louise realised that the poor weather was holding up building work, and despaired of ever moving – just as the sales advisor was coming out of a completed property across the way.
“She just happened to say ‘well why don’t you have a look at this one’ and before we knew it, we were moving in,” said Louise.
Now settled in a four bedroom, three storey Chestnut style property, Louise said that things had worked out really well in the end.
“Persimmon helped to sell our house for us, and transferred all the paperwork from the original Coppice Grove property to our current home and facilitated the move. I really couldn’t fault them, it has been an absolute pleasure working with them.
“We are thrilled with this house; it is a good size giving us the room we need. The Persimmon team have been really nice and always helpful and made the move very easy.
“Perhaps when the other house is complete and the owners move in I’ll pop over and see how my kitchen and bathrooms look!”
Coppice Grove is part of Lawley Village, Telford’s premier new homes development. Located just two miles west of Telford town centre, it is currently the largest sustainable urban residential development of its kind in the UK, providing 3,500 homes, alongside new health, education, retail and leisure facilities.
The project represents a visionary approach to new home building, placing a greater emphasis on design and sustainability. The result is a new community with a clear character and a strong sense of place.
