Contestants bidding to win a brand new car made personal appeals across Yorkshire this weekend as they went head-to-head in a public vote.
Five finalists in the ‘Car Wars’ competition attempted to gain support for their quest to win a brand new Volkswagen Take up! by parading their tired old motors at Huddersfield Volkswagen.
Adrian Waring, brand manager at Sytner Volkswagen Huddersfield, said: “Hundreds of entrants were whittled down to ten finalists, who are battling it out to prove they are the most deserving of a new car.
“They are all currently driving around in their old cars, all branded up with the competition details and how people can vote for them. The one with the most votes when the contest closes this Sunday, 15th September, will scoop a brand new up!
“Along with competition partners Real Radio, we hosted a fun day on Saturday, welcoming half of the finalists to our site while the rest appeared at our sister dealership in Leeds.
“The campaigning is attracting a lot of interest so we had an excellent turnout, and we ran a prize draw for people voting on the day, with a £250 top prize and lots of great Volkswagen goodies.”
