A team from a Derby van centre will take on one of the toughest challenges of their lives this week, to raise money for a stroke charity.
Together with colleagues from other areas in the business, the 16 strong team from Imperial Commercials Van and Truck Centre, plus two friends will attempt the Three Peaks Challenge in 24 hours to help raise valuable funds for The Stroke Association.
The gruelling challenge of climbing Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis within 24 hours will be supported by two Volkswagen Transporter Shuttles which are transporting the team.
Emma Bulgin the HR Officer at Imperial Commercials, explained why the challenge is so important.
She said: “Our target is to raise over £3,000 and thanks to our generous supporters we are well on our way to achieving this.
“We know accomplishing the three peaks within 24 hours will be tough and it will be harder as we become sleep deprived but we are all really looking forward to the day and delighted to be raising as much money as possible for The Stroke Association.
“All the money raised will go to help prevent strokes and reduce their many detrimental effects. Strokes are something many of us unfortunately come into contact in our lives, whether it be through family or friends. We hope our fund raising efforts will help make a difference to stroke sufferers and their families through supporting the charity’s ongoing research.”
