A leading charity is calling for West Midlands businesses to sponsor a fundraising football match which aims to raise vital funds for people living with a visual impairment in the region.
Organised by the Wolverhampton-based Beacon Centre for the Blind, the charity’s team of local players will pitch their efforts against the Aston Villa Old Stars.
The charity is calling for one organisation to sponsor the kit for the match – sponsors will receive branding opportunities on the day, as well as an advert in the programme, the chance to meet and greet the Aston Villa Old Stars players in the VIP lounge, and five tickets to the event.
Other sponsorship opportunities available include sponsoring the match ball and businesses can also advertise in the programme.
The football match is being held as part of a fundraising family fun day taking place at 1.30pm on Sunday 18 May at Hednesford Town Football Club, in Staffordshire.
Joanne Field, from the Beacon Centre said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for local businesses to get involved with a high profile fundraising event in May.
“Every penny donated from the match and fun day will help us to support local people with sight loss live fuller and more independent lives.
“The fundraising football match is part of a fun day where there will be something for the whole family including football, food and lots of fun. There will also be a bouncy castle, face painting and much more.”
Tickets are £5 for adults, £2 for children and £12 for a family (2 adults and 2 children) and can be purchased from Hednesford Town Football Club, the Cannock Beacon Centre charity shop and the Beacon Centre’s Sedgley site located on Wolverhampton Road East.
More than 3,000 people in the community receive support from a team of dedicated outreach workers and social groups can meet at Sedgley centre to participate in arts and crafts, music, fitness and IT sessions.
The charity also operates seven charity shops across the region in Wolverhampton, Bilston, Bloxwich, Wednesbury, Cannock, Halesowen and the centre in Sedgley, which deliver much-needed funds through sales of donated items. Money raised from the sales supports a range of services for people of all ages living with a visual impairment.
