Established bespoke joinery company, Scotts of Thrapston, has appointed Wolverhampton’s Connect PR to handle the PR for its buildings, joinery and truss divisions.
Connect PR’s remit covers trade and consumer communications of the company’s extensive range of timber products, from trussed rafters and performance doors to summerhouses and pavilions.
The team at Connect will draw on its expertise in the construction sector to promote the company’s timber engineering products as well as launching a brand new product range within the buildings division targeted at the public sector.
Connect will also be tasked with maximising coverage for Scotts’ range of licensed products including the Lords’ range during the Home of Cricket’s bicentennial year, and the trio of garden buildings designed in partnership with the Royal Horticultural Society.
Scotts’ latest product, the RHS Cosy Nook, was launched at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show supported by a Connect campaign.
Managing director of Connect PR, Hazel Crawford, said: “We are thrilled to be working with Scotts of Thrapston during this exciting time for the company. The family-run business has earned itself an enviable reputation for quality products crafted to the highest specification and the PR for the company throughout 2014 will reflect that.”
David Scott, whose grandfather James Scott founded the business in 1920, commented: “This is a very important time for the business given that we are seeing positive trends across all markets with a sense that the economy is starting to recover and customers within all divisions are showing more confidence. The public relations campaigns undertaken by Connect will support our long-term marketing strategy and in turn support further growth of the business.”
Connect PR also counts Persimmon Homes, Volkswagen, Yale, Johnstone’s, Selco Builders Warehouse and Leyland Paints amongst its clients. Scotts of Thrapston joins Autoglym, Morris Lubricants and Palletline as new clients in 2014.
