NoVate Direct Legal Solutions has signed up as a sponsor to The Big Hoot, Birmingham’s largest ever mass participation art event that is set to see the city overrun by owls.
The Big Hoot will see more than 100 individually designed 165cm tall owl statues appear across the city over the summer, raising money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
NoVate is one of a host of corporate sponsors from around the region funding the sculptures, which will be brought to life by local artists. Much like the Paddington bears to be found around London, the owls will provide a stunning trail of art across all 10 districts of Birmingham, encouraging visitors, tourists and residents to follow the trail and discover areas they may not have explored before.
Presented by public art specialists Wild in Art, in partnership with Birmingham Children’s Hospital, it is hoped The Big Hoot will showcase the wide cultural appeal of Birmingham.
Derek Larkin from NoVate said: “The Big Hoot is such a colourful, joyous way of raising money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital, while also highlighting what our city has to offer in such a fun, inspiring way.
“We are delighted to be part of this initiative which will hopefully attract hundreds of new visitors to our city while also being part of such a good cause.”
Louise McCathie, Director of Fundraising at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, said: “We are thrilled to have NoVate involved in The Big Hoot this summer.
“Thanks to them and our other corporate partners we will ultimately be able to fund important projects for our children and young people at Birmingham Children’s Hospital and for that we’re immensely grateful.
“The Big Hoot is a fantastic opportunity for Birmingham, not only because it will bring in visitors from all over the UK but also because brummies will get to be tourists in their own city, giving them the opportunity to rediscover its heritage and cultural offering.”
And Charlie Langhorne, Director of Wild in Art, said: “We are so pleased to have NoVate on board as a sponsor. The Big Hoot will be a fantastic spectacle for Birmingham and is an excellent way to raise funds for Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Sponsorship packages are still available and we hope the city’s industries and businesses will recognise the cultural benefits of getting involved as well as the positives for the local community.”
